At 16 you can drive a vehicle … at 18 you can vote and purchase a lottery ticket…and on your 21st birthday you can legally purchase and consume alcohol.
While today most people want to be younger... some minors pretend to be older so that they can purchase alcohol and get into bars and clubs.

Restaurant staff certification not required
The TABC has several guidelines for restaurant owners and workers to follow regarding fake IDs. These guidelines include feeling for bumps on the ID, asking patrons about ID information and matching photo information to the information on the ID. Read more.

The Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission’s Alcoholic Beverage Code says misrepresentation of age by a minor is if the minor states that he or she is 21 years old or presents any document that indicates that he or she is 21 or older to a person engaged in selling or serving alcoholic beverages.
