Festival Spotlight: Chris Caddel
By Julie Stoddart
Chris has served in many capacities, both in front of and behind the theatre curtain. Last on stage in Lubbock Community Theatre's performance of How I Learned To Drive, Chris's acting performances consistently garner praise. His scenic design work brings professional stages to many local performances.

Chris's short films have played film festivals around the world. He has been nominated for the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the St. Louis Film Festival and screened at the Moxie! Awards-Santa Monica Film Festival, and more recently, at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival. His work has also been seen at the Festival du Brest (France) Olympia Film Festival and as part of the short film catalogue at the Clermont-Ferrat Film Fest. Working with James W. Johnson, the two have been commissioned to create film and video for many clients, including a feature-length documentary and a video for a world-premiere opera.
Chris served as LHUCA's first artist-in-residence, for which he was commissioned to launch LHUCA's plainSpeaking series of documentaries on artists of the Llano Estacado region. His film on Lahib Jaddo is complete, and a film on James Watkins is currently in progress.
