'Tis the Season...
Spring is in the air, and with it...Allergies
Following the Winter thaw, cold weather and winter cold and flu season gives way to warmer weather and its infamous accompaniment...allergies.
While allergies are a problem for students on campuses around the country, Tech students have it especially hard, being "blessed" with Lubbock's naturally hyper-allergenic climate.
Lubbock allergy sufferers are forced to deal with a plethora of allergens including the usual suspects: grass, flowers, trees; coupled with the local jewels like Bradford Pears and the infamous...DUST.

Some people can simply deal with their allergies - perhaps take some over the counter medications. Others turn to physicians to prescribe prescription pills. Those with the worst allergies may even have to receive steroid injections to keep their reactions under control.

Some Interesting Statistics
- Approximately 14.1 Million people visit physicians each year for allergy-related problems.
- Approximately 55% of all U.S. Citizens test positive for one or more allergies.
- Allergies cost healthcare systems nearly $18.1 million each year.
