How To Open A Bar
When opening a new bar there are many different aspects people need to take into consideration.
Location, atmosphere, music, pricing, and menu options are just a few items to factor into making your decisions for the establishment.
In a lot of larger cities it does not matter where a bar is at but here in Lubbock there are designated areas for bars to be. Most people when thinking about opening up a bar in Lubbock think twice about it, mainly because finding a place to put a bar and have it be successful is rather difficult.
Environmental Health Manager, Bridget Faulkenberry of the Lubbock Health Department said, “any new food establishment, which a bar is a food establishment, needs to come and bring us a set of plans that shows us where all of their equipment is and all of their hand sinks, bathrooms, things like that. Then we look over those plans, let them know if they are approved or not.”
Bar PM hopes this location will work out better for them then other bars in the past. The location is right on the corner of Broadway and University. Though this
seems to be a sure thing many bars/establishments have had problems being successful in the spot.
So far, students around town are impressed by Bar PM and say they will continue going there on the weekend for their great music and relaxing scene.
