Lubbock has more than 75 parks to offer the community. Parks in and around Lubbock offer:
- Tennis Courts
- Basketball Courts
- Swimming Pools
- Walking Trails
Not only does Lubbock have general recreation parks, it also has a few specialty parks. These specialty parks include Prairie Dog Town which is located inside McKenzie Park, next to Meadowbrook Golf Course.
According to the survey done on Lubbock attractions, Prairie Dog Town is the 5th most visited attraction in Lubbock.

New to Lubbock is the Ambucus playground located in Maxy Park. This playground has been built and designed for children of all ages and especially for those with special needs. Some of the special amenities for the playground include a wheel chair accessible sandbox and a swing area.
